On Painting

My paintings are the fossil record of my exploration of the intersection of place, time, memory and attraction. It’s all about the push and pull and pour of pigment. The journey is to paint myself out of the picture or at least get out of the way.

Oil, enamels, shellac, paper, glass on wood panel, sometimes on canvas. I work from all directions, and flat on the floor. I use brushes, sticks or pour the paint.

Personally I am far less concerned with the conventions of painting. It's an exploration, a fight, a give and take, and hopefully an insight to the subject and to myself.
